Frequently asked questions
Can I change the text that is already in the PDF?
Not directly — PDFs store text as placed letters, not as editable paragraphs. Cover the old text with whiteout and type the new text on top, or convert the PDF to Word.
Does whiteout delete the text underneath?
No. It hides it on screen and in print, but the text is still in the file and can be copied. To remove content for good, use Redact PDF.
Which languages can I type in?
Latin, Greek, Cyrillic and Devanagari (Hindi, Marathi, Nepali) text, shaped correctly with the Noto Sans fonts and searchable in the saved PDF.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser.
