GIF to WebP
Turn GIF files into WebP images. WebP files are typically 25–35% smaller than JPG or PNG at the same quality, so pages load faster. All current browsers support it.
Runs in your browser — files are never uploaded

Frequently asked questions
Why convert GIF images to WebP?
WebP files are typically 25–35% smaller than JPG or PNG at the same quality, so pages load faster. All current browsers support it.
Is transparency kept?
Yes. WebP supports transparency, so transparent areas stay transparent.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The conversion happens in your browser, so your images never leave your device.
Do animations stay animated?
Yes, with “Keep the animation” (on by default) every frame and its timing is converted to an animated WebP, in browsers that can read animations frame by frame (Chrome, Edge and other Chromium browsers). Elsewhere, or with the option off, the first frame is converted.
Which quality should I choose?
90% (the default) looks the same as the original for almost every image. Lower it for smaller files.
